This HC12 SI4463 Wireless Serial Port Communication Module 433Mhz offers reliable, long-range wireless communication in an ultra-compact package. With its 900mW power output and 4-layer PCB, this advanced module allows for reliable, secure data transfer over long distances, with up to 500m+ of coverage. HC-12 wireless RF UART communication module is a new generation of multi-channel embedded wireless data transmission module. The Radio frequency of 433.4 – 473.0MHz, can be setting a communication channel, step is 400kHz, a total of 100 channels.
The HC-12 is the easiest way to transfer data over the air between two MCUs. Just connect the RX and TX pins for the transfer of data. It is a 100mw multi-channel wireless transceiver you can use in your projects to transmit and receive serial information. HC-12 module has a microcontroller that actually doesn’t have to be programmed by the user. For configuring the module we simply use AT commands, which can be sent from an Arduino, a PC, or any other microcontroller using the serial port. For entering the AT command mode we just have to set the “Set” pin of the module to a low logic level. Its wireless working frequency band is from 433.4 MHz to 473.0 MHz.
The module also has antenna welding hole ANT2, convenient user welded spring antenna. The user can choose one kind of antenna according to the request. The module contains MCU, users do not need to program in addition, just send and receive UART data. The module uses a variety of UART transmission mode, the user can choose according to the requirements of the use of AT command. The four UART modes of FU1, FU2, FU3, FU4, the average operating current is 3.6mA, 80μA, 16mA and 16mA, the maximum operating current is 100mA (full power transmit state) HC12 Module is based on the SI4463 EZRadioPro family chip by SiLabs. This module offers a wireless data transmission and reception range of approximately 1 km in the open air. It’s a low power radio chip that is ultra-easy to use.
The Si4463 Transceiver
The Si4463 provides the wireless communication in this circuit. It has a maximum transmit power of 20 dBm (100 mW) and receive sensitivity of -129 dBm. Two 64-byte Rx and Tx FIFO memories are built into the chip along with a great many advanced features that are not implemented in the HC-12 design. See the datasheet for more information on multiband operation, frequency hopping, etc.
The STM8S003FS Microcontroller
This is an 8-bit microcontroller with 8 kB of flash memory, 128 bytes of EEPROM, and a 10-bit ADC. It supports UART, SPI, and I²C and has multiple I/O pins. It offers many of the same capabilities as its ATMega and XMC counterparts. It is programmed to control the Si4463 as well as handle the UART communication between the HC-12 and whatever it is connected to on the other end.
