MAX7219 is a common-cathode display driver with integrated serial input and output that links your microprocessor to a 7-segment digital LED display with 8 digits of 0.36" size. This eight-digit display is driven by only three signal wires and a 5-volt power source. The MAX7219 supports both flicker-free and cascading displays to expand the number of display digits.
The brightness of seven segments may be adjusted to 16 levels, making it simple to use. The whole equipment includes A 150 μA low current consumption closed mode, analog, and digital brightness control. Users can display 1-8 bits of data using the scanning limit register, and all LED luminous detecting models are supported.
The MAX7219 comes with a four-wire serial interface that may be used with any microcontroller or microprocessor. Each on-chip data can be addressed in the update without rewriting the entire display, and you can choose whether to encode or not encode each bit of data.
